These terms of use set out the rules that govern your use of the Oustad platform and its services. Please read them carefully, because by using the service you acknowledge that you accept them and agree to abide by them.
1. The operator and acceptance of the terms
The Oustad platform is operated by زواوي وسيم إلياس (Zouaoui Wassim Elyes), a sole trader registered in Algeria, holder of tax identification number 10216300045716041680 issued by the Directorate General of Taxes. Place of business: Coop Immo El Djamel BT 02, Rouiba, Alger. Email: wassdzouaoui@gmail.com · Phone: +213 563 19 18 93.
Creating an account or using any part of the service amounts to full acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
2. Eligibility and minors
The service is aimed at third year secondary students and their parents. The age of majority in Algeria is nineteen full years, so a student who is a minor may only use the service and subscribe to it with the consent of their parent or legal representative. It is for the parent to oversee the minor’s use of the service and the paid subscription taken out on their behalf.
3. Description of the service
Oustad provides educational content for baccalaureate preparation, covering the lessons, the guided step by step exercises with their worked answers, the quiz, and the "Snap an exercise" feature which returns a detailed solution from a photo of an exercise. The content is built on the official programme of each track.
The service is a revision and learning aid. It gives no guarantee of passing the baccalaureate, nor of reaching any particular result or average, and it does not replace regular schooling in an educational institution.
4. The account
A student account and a parent account can be created. The two accounts are linked through a QR code with confirmation from both sides. You are responsible for keeping your sign in details confidential and for all activity carried out through your account, and you undertake to provide accurate and up to date information when you register. You may delete your account at any time from inside the app.
5. Subscription and payment
Oustad offers a limited free version that includes 3 exercises and one lesson a day, with the quiz unlimited. The paid subscription opens the whole service. How you subscribe depends on the platform you subscribe from.
Inside the iPhone and iPad app: the subscription is taken out exclusively through an in app purchase on the App Store. The subscription renews automatically, monthly or yearly, and its price is shown inside the app in the currency of your country’s store before the purchase is confirmed. The amount is charged to the Apple account on confirmation, then renews automatically for the same period unless renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal and its cancellation are managed from the Apple account settings only. This transaction is subject, in addition to these terms, to Apple’s media services terms.
On the website and on the Android app: prices are shown in Algerian dinars and include all applicable duties. Payment is made by CCP or BaridiMob transfer: the user uploads a photo of the transfer receipt, and the subscription is activated once it has been checked. A linked parent may pay for the student’s subscription. We do not accept payment by bank card and we collect no data relating to one.
6. Refunds
The Oustad platform grants a money back guarantee for a period of 14 days from the activation of the account and the confirmation of the first payment. This guarantee applies to the first payment only, and covers both the monthly subscription and the pass until the BAC option, with no justification required. The refund is issued through the same payment method used for the original purchase, by CCP or by BaridiMob, at the user’s request made through live support.
This guarantee does not cover renewals of the monthly subscription, whether automatic or manual, made after the first payment. Once the 14 day period has passed, all amounts paid become non refundable, given the digital nature of the service which is delivered as soon as the account is activated. Exceptions are made where an error occurs in processing the payment or in activating the account, or where the service is unavailable for reasons attributable to the Oustad platform, in which case the user should contact the platform to have the error corrected or to be compensated for the period they did not benefit from.
The above applies to amounts we receive directly. Subscriptions purchased inside the iPhone or iPad app do not pass through us, and refund requests for them are handled by Apple alone under its media services terms. The request is made through Apple’s report a problem page, and you are always welcome to contact our support to guide you through it.
7. Acceptable use
The content may be used for personal educational purposes only. Republishing, copying, selling, distributing or commercially exploiting it is prohibited, as is sharing a single account between several students. It is likewise prohibited to misuse the service, to attempt to disrupt or breach it, or to gain unauthorised access to its systems or to other users’ accounts.
8. Intellectual property
All elements of the platform and of the content, including the texts, the lessons, the exercises, the illustrations, the designs, the software and the brand, are owned by or licensed to the operator, and are protected under Ordinance no. 03-05 on copyright and related rights. You are granted a personal, non transferable licence to use the service within the limits of these terms, with no transfer of any ownership right.
9. Limits of warranty
The service is provided as is and subject to availability. Automatically generated solutions, particularly in the "Snap an exercise" feature, may contain errors or an inaccurate reading of the image, so they should be reviewed and checked before being relied upon. The service may be interrupted temporarily for technical reasons or for maintenance work.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect damage arising from the use of the service or from the inability to use it, nor for the user’s academic results. This clause does not affect the mandatory rights granted by Law no. 09-03 on consumer protection.
11. Suspension or termination of the account
The operator may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms or misuses the service, after informing the user wherever that is possible. Where termination occurs for a reason not attributable to the user, the remaining period of their subscription is returned to them. On your side, you may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
12. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The last updated date shown at the top of the page indicates the version in force, and continuing to use the service after a change amounts to acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Applicable law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by Algerian law, in particular Law no. 18-05 on electronic commerce and Law no. 09-03 on consumer protection and the suppression of fraud. Should a dispute arise, we prefer to seek an amicable settlement first by writing to us. Failing that, the Algerian courts have jurisdiction, and the consumer keeps the right to bring the matter before the court of their place of residence.
